Driving along the winding down county road to Still Waters Retreat I couldn’t help myself from stopping at various points to admire to spectacular views of the cliffs. I saw several ranches and a gorgeous chestnut colored horse with a long black mane….was he watching me drive by? I pulled up to a bright yellowish opening that welcomed me like sunshine to Still WaterS Retreat…..from the road I spied a beautiful pale orange cabin just ahead. I later found out that it was named Sun Rise Cabin because you can see the sunrise from the quaint porch.
I went inside and was warmly greeted by Dene and Barb…These ladies work tirelessly to ensure that each and every guest has a special experience. We toured the retreat property and each one of the cabins had their own charm. I loved that each one had its’ own fire pit and the wood is supplied. That’s a special touch to have in the evening as you watch the sunset and stars begin to twinkle.
The grounds were well maintained as well as each cabin. Each one has a unique view and a serenity feel. I loved all the special touches throughout the property and the fully stocked fishing pond. How about this hidden jewel for a mid-week fishing retreat with a few friends. Quilters, Yoga enthusiast, Health and Wellness groups and Corporate personnel who need to refresh are just some of the groups this retreat venue would be perfect for. I could go one about my trip, but I will let these pictures I snapped speak the rest for me.
I will add that I noticed that I felt at peace and remarked to Barb and Dene, several times, just how great it “felt” to be here. At the end of the tour Barb mentioned that it had a very spiritual and sacredness about the property and I can tell you first hand that I felt it without even knowing it.
